Forum bug? "Go Advanced" has "Title" change field, but it doesn't take.

I made a type in the title of a topic I started, and I went into "Go Advanced" on the first post in the topic and edit the Title field text. When I saved the message the topic title was not updated.

Is this a bug or by design?

You can change the title and it will show in the thread view BUT when you are browsing the forums you will not see the title change until you click on the link. The moderators have to make the title changes for it to be viewed everywhere. Its been like this for ages.

I changed "teghering" to "tethering" and in all places I still see "teghering"... and I'm not sure why the topic title should only be editable by a Mod, it's unlikely to be 'messed with' maliciously by the OP, isn't it? There are punitive measures that can be used to deal with abusers.
