Crackberry very slow
I've found this site VERY slow to load this past week /10 days . The firefox wheel just keeps spinning and page either doesn't load or loads half. Rare to get a full page up on first attempt.
In Australia time zone so the site shouldn't be overloaded . No problems with other sites.
Very annoying

A few changes are going on in the background, albeit this shouldn't affect current service. I'm in Atlanta, GA and service seems fine.
What happens if you clear your cache? Alternatively as a test try Chrome or Internet Explorer 8, do those work better?BBM Channel: C000B75E8 -

Thanks for the note Gazza.
So there's been nothing on "our end" that would be causing the slowness. As naviwilliams reported, things are pretty fast.
THAT SAID, we have had a couple of issues pop up over the last two weeks via our advertising partner. It didn't affect just CrackBerry, but any/all sites that have ads being served in from that partner. The issue became that one of their ad services has a blacklist function, and we found some IP addresses that should not have been blacklisted, were. When trying to visit the site, the key symptom was that the page would start to load and then HANG. We asked them to disable that partner until the issue was fixed, which was the case, and we haven't seen any other issues reported or experienced since.
From what you're describing, sounds like this may have been the culprit. Are you still experiencing issues? If so let me know and we'll flag it to the partner and hopefully it will be resolved asap.
Thanks,

Thanks Kevin..yes it is the hanging effect caused by doubleclick.net.
It constantly tries to load in the lower left corner.May God give us a horizontal Bold slider one day - 03-03-2013, 10:08 PM #5
The crackberry site and forums seems to be getting slower and slower every day. Definitely something causing the slow down.
Starting last week I noticed it was taking a couple of seconds longer than usual.
I at first thought it was my internet, but none of the other sites or forums I visit are having issues.
Now it's taking anywhere between 15-30 seconds to load a page!
Anyone else experiencing issues like I am? - 03-05-2013, 03:53 PM

Re: Crackberry very slow
It seems to be a routing issue. At home I experience slow downs but at school it is fast.

Seems to be actually running faster now on my ipad. On the old Dell box at work with IE on it, forgetaboutit!

The forum is completely unusable on my Playbook. Slow, hangs, can not navigate. I'm afraid my crackberry shortcut is going to end up in the same place as my n4bb shortcut, the trash. The organization of the homepage is also horrid. Go back to the simple blog format. I looked for a switch to change to blog view, but couldn't find it on my playbook. Wow, what a disappointment.

Definitely improved speed on my desktop. On my PlayBook though, slow and in the last 3 days it had actually been crashing (happened 5 times). I'm not used to my PlayBook browser crashing at all, so that was weird. Always happened on the last 10th of the load bar. Maybe that was related to that ad.
The site looks amazing though, it should make Chris Umi happy that it looks so awesome. I remember how important he felt about the BBZ10 having to look great. You guys certainly got the great look going....to be fair it also functions great (on my desktop).
Looking forward to seeing some improvements. - 03-08-2013, 12:53 AM #16
Site is extremely slow on my PlayBook and BB9850. Much longer to load, using either the native browser or SimpleBrowser on the PlayBook. Both on the block side and the forum side.
Really like the new layout. Now get the speed back to normal.

Very slow toload forums on my playbook...turning off flash and javascript helped a little, but still slow. Also cb forums app no longer loads, opens a frame, then sits forever with BlackBerry logo.
The forum is also very slow to load on my iPhone, unless I go from m.crackberry.com which seems to work fine.Last edited by freighter1; 03-08-2013 at 12:23 PM.

Slow as heck on my PlayBook since the switch to the new site.
Also, this new font is a pain to see. Arial would be easier on the eyes.
Still have to refresh after each post to get the "thanks button" back and still getting error messages popping up every now and then.Do those who protest the loudest or longest have a lock on the truth? - 03-08-2013, 04:09 PM #19
Reading this thread has left me somewhat puzzled. Tried my desktop, Galaxy S2, and Playbook. All are faster with the new site. All were running off my wifi system fed by Time Warner Cable. I know nothing about what could be causing the discrepancy here but it is obvious something is happening to cause such variation.(Used CB app on Galaxy and Playbook)
