How to install any carrier 9000 OS onto your own 9000
1. Back up data on Desktop Manager under Back up/restore option
2. Back up your 3rd party apps. Instructions here--> http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...cations-53201/
3. Disconnect your BB from Desktop Manager
4. Download desired OS to your PC
5. Install/run OS to PC
6. Delete vendor.xml file. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
7. Connect BB to Desktop Manager and it should prompt the upgrade. If not click app loader and that should initialize it.
8. Do not unplug BB during the process. It will take around 30-60 minutes to complete upgrade.
***Steps 2 is optional but recommended

Oh just a quick question to anybody who installed this. I could not get Live Search to work with the beta .190. Has anybody tried Live Search with this?
does RIM publish a list of changes in each software upgrade? i would love to know what is different each time, it seems that for the day bold was out, the only thing that RIM has done is fix its problems and bugs, no new features?
I just installed the latest version of Live Search, and... Negative. Doesn't work. The application doesn't run, just sits there, like an empty icon.
I've never used live search, is it good? Is it worth not upgrading for? Couldn't the yellow pages app substitute, or not really?

Live Search has movie listings/theaters, traffic, maps/directions, weather, plus many other categories all in one app. Yellow pages app did not do that for me. If Live Seach does not work on the .190 as well, I would rather stick with .185

Do you by chance have a link to downgrade to .185.
I was using .190 beta for a bit and I really didn't like it. a few of the programs I use were giving me errors and wouldn't load, it was more laggy then previous versions, would get random reboots eevery once in a while and even the initial boot time after a battery pull was significantly slower than previous versions. Memory management was very poor as well. I downgraded to .185 and ALL my problems have been fixed. If this official release is the same as the beta then I'm just sticking with .185 for now.

What's the best way to downgrade?? I tried following the instructions from the sticky posts, but for some reason didn't work.
You know, I did that.. I had the original file from when I upgraded from the os that was shipped with my bold. The only thing that did was upgraded some new languages. I did remove vendor.xml, etc..
