Hey all. So the 'Enter' key to my Classic fell off. Anyone have any suggestions on putting it back on? I went to a few mobile shops here in Houston and no one works on Berry's anymore. The few who were willing to give it a shot could not find a replacement keyboard since the device is so new. Help!!

Did you drop the phone or did the key fall off during normal use?

Normal use. The key fits on flush but does not stick.

That doesn't sound good. I hope this doesn't mean another QA issue. In the meantime hopefully someone will chime in with a repair suggestion. Good luck.

Contacting BlackBerry support would be a decent step. However from what I heard, you are pretty much screwed if your phone is NOT a carrier-provided device and you don't have a receipt for your purchase. At least around here you usually go through the channel who sold you the device - be it your carrier or a store. They'll handle the warranty with BlackBerry.

This has been my pet peeve with Blackberry is their warranty policy! I can get my Nokia or iPhone serviced by the manufacturer without any proof of purchase as long as the unit is still within the warranty period, they warranty the device as it should be.

This is a serious issue and is also becoming a determining factor why allot of folks will not buy a used Blackberry device and rightfully so. They need a warranty policy more in line to what their competitors have!

Had you noticed the key being at all "wobbly" or not as tight as it should be prior to it falling off? I agree that it would be strange for this to happen just like that but weirder things have been known to happen with our phones.

Also maybe your "friend" wasn't being entirely honest with you as to its condition. Just saying.

I don't know if you have it, but there's a little card that comes with the Classic devices that has a number you can call in the first 30 days after purchase, in my experience doing this is much more effective than calling a generic customer service line that may or may not be sent to someone in Asia to answer. (Also, calling during the day 9:00 am - 5:00 pm increases your chances of getting someone in North America answering your call)
