Wait. You plugged in your phone at night and instead of charging your phone went down to 38% while charging? That's not a bbm problem, that's a charging problem!

If bbm is using more power than the charger can provide it will do this.
Reboot your phone and it should solve the problem

In Soviet Russia, BBM eats battery!

    ...sorry, I couldn't resist.

I agree with Jaydee, if your phone is losing battery while plugged in, you have more than just software promlems. I'd try turning the phone off and charging it.

Perhaps a simple question but it needs to be asked, have you done a hard reset of the phone? (hold the 'volume up' and 'volume down' buttons until the phone resets)

Well, assuming that you've tried that now, does it seem to have resolved itself?

It's a issue with the latest official update in z10 or z3. It will max 2-3 times than it will work well again. Wait for BBM update to solve the issue. It will be coming soon.
