I'm an owner of a faulty 9790 Bold which has a defective SIM card slot: some pins are broken so the SIM card is not recognized.

The phone is still in warranty, but BlackBerry Italy states that the user has done unauthorized intervention and thus is refusing to fix it.

However, the defect is very simple to fix (by trained personnel): welding the pins to the slot should be sufficient.

So, do you know any trained and affordable hands which can do the job?

It's not important where the center is, I can mail the phone anywhere in the world.

Well BB refused to fix it, for free/warranty, but I'm sure they would do it for a nominal charge. They are the experts, they designed/built it.
Otherwise, do a google search for phone repair services in your country, I'm sure you'll find someone....

I've mailed an inquiry to BlackBerry Corporate in Waterloo, Canada. It's on its way.

As soon as they reply [ via BBM?! ] I will send the 9790 to the main repair center in Canada.

It may cost less to replace your phone with a new one.
