Telegram announced a competition for devs to develop a BlackBerry 10 Telegram client months ago with a cash prize of 50k.

I think this is the best way to start getting official big name apps on board. The response to this is now we have 6 telegram clients on BBW!

Which do you guys prefer? Here are all the apps with my first impressions.

Unofficial Telegram, I believe is a direct port of the official Telegram, its a finished app but its slow. It does have working push notifications though.
Unofficial IM App for Telegram - BlackBerry World

Bonogram, I think this and pintagram are the best so far
    bomogram - BlackBerry World

DianBao, looks like a desktop version of telegram on your phone.
DianBao for Telegram - BlackBerry World

Pintagram, excellent and definitely has a native feel. I think this here is the winner.
    Pintagram - BlackBerry World

TB10, most different layout, written in native code and interpreted differently compared to the rest.
    TB10 - BlackBerry World

Telegrann, brought to you by the developer who brought us igrann
Telegrann - Client for Telegram (Unofficial) - BlackBerry World

I hope blackberry can persuade more devs to participate in these competitions.

Unfortunately, bomogram and Pintagram are not available for all countries (France for instance)

One of the conditions of the challenge was to not release the app on BlackBerry World until the winner was picked. Oh well!

None give me notifications except the unofficial telegram.

Its slow, not native, no full hub integration?

Eventually the native ones will have hub integration just like bbm and whatsapp. Instant reply, compose from hub, etc.

Only when the app is open correct? With the unoffiicial telegram I receive notifications even without opening the app.

Pintagram is definitely the best now
But it is just a port of the Web version
I hope one of those written in native BlackBerry language can win
Personally, I will prefer teletone or telegrann although definitely not one of the best now

I'm using the official Telegram apk on OS 10.3.1 and it's perfect. It's fast and you get hub notifications without having the active frame open.

Yes but it'll never get full hub integration, reply from notification and all the nice BB10 native IM features.

Of the 6 new telegram aps on BBW which are native and which are ports?

Unofficial telegram is a port for sure.

Telegrann, TB10, is native for sure.

Bomogram and pintagram are less obvious

Yes I agree its a good effort but it will never have the great native features BB10 offers like full hub integration, instant replies, compose from hub, actionable notifications and everything that other native IM offers like BBM and whatsapp.

Native is the way forward when it comes to IM apps.

I gave pintagram, telegrann and unofficial a shot, as much as i hate to admit it, i have to stick with unofficial for now. I will go back to the others when the features are on it ( like above said full hub intergration and ect.), sure native are the way to go, but only if they have the features. the most important feature i need now are the notifications, could never get the natives to push the notifications properly.

I use Pintagram and no notification in the hub every time I get messages.

Same here, deal breaker for me, will def go back if i can get this to work properly.
