My first day with the classic, I find myself using the touch screen more than the trackpad as it just doesn't feel as responsive or precise as the trackpad we've all loved on the older devices, it's a bit laggy

I haven't played with the trackpad sensitivity yet but this is my first impression about the trackpad

No, because I did play with the sensitivity before making a post about it lol.

Also keep in mind the new trackpad is smaller than the previous ones, which leads to less surface to track your thumb movements.

This is completely accurate. So hard to use such a small trackpad.

My experience is similar - small trackpad is one factor, but it can be unpredictable too in that it responds far faster in some places (e.g. home screen and some menus) than others (e.g. browser). That's after I turned the sensitivity down.

Not fatal, but one for a future software update, I hope.

True, I made the sensitivity a bit higher. It's much better now, just not 100%, I hope a software update can improve on this

another nail in the coffin for the Classic as far as I am concerned....

The smaller trackpad size vs. 9*** phones is my main gripe.

Aside, why isn't the word trackpad in the BB word list? Had to "Add To Dictionary"

I haven't noticed a difference. The only thing I've noticed for myself is that I rarely use the track pad lolI mostly use the call keys, and the back key.

True, while I was dying to have the trackpad back after it was gone since the 9900, now that I had gotten used to living without it after my Q10, now I only use it to select text and that's the best thing the trackpad's at really, nothing can beat that, always get the right selection from the first attempt. Navigation wise, it's faster to just select itms by touching them. This is the best combo really

The Bold 9900 has a small screen where the trackpad is needed. The Classic's screen size and BB10 OS is good enough where the trackpad isn't needed. What I hope for is an updated Q10 with a 4:3 ratio 4" display.

Anyone notice that the Classic's trackpad is not as precise as the old BBs?-concept-design-blackberry-q30-con-tastiera-fisica-qwerty-1.jpg

I have had no problems adjusting to the trackpad and am glad it is back.

There is some sensitivity disparity with certain apps but nothing glaring.

I don't think it's not "not that sensitive".

It is just a bit different, now it reacts "how" you swipe with your finger over it.

Like: when you scroll slow it's more like a mouse cursor.
When you really speed up it switches to "like using you touch screen to scroll".

Agreed. Still 3,000 times better than a phone with no trackpad...

You can change the trackpad sensitivity in Settings -> Language, scroll all the way to the bottom to find it. Cheers!

my thoughts exactly, it isn't the same 100% precise trackpad that we have gotten used to from the older legacy BlackBerry phones, but it is way better than a phone with no trackpad! The precision in selecting text with a trackpad is way better than trying your luck with selection on a touch screen! that's a joke!
