Walking out of my dealerships, and went to slip my phone in my handy dandy cell phone holder.. Missed the pouch and dropped the phone down a flight of concrete stairs... Screen is cracked and the red hang up button broke off..

I'd call them and tell them that you forgot to ask for them to add insurance cause of the expense of the phone and you forgot to and wait a few days and put in the claim.. I think that would work.

you have 14 days to insure the phone after the purchase. it's wrong but you could add it on and call for a replacement in a couple of weeks or so

Just kidding and with the lengthy delays in shipping new units, you may have to wait a while for a new one.

Well, I just got off the phone, with VZW, and I guess I had put insurance on it with out knowing, they told me they would replace the phone but no ETA on when I'll get a new one.

P.S. When I told them they laughed at me.

I believe if you have insurance on your phone with Verizon that would follow you to your new phone unless you changed it. I would call them and check or wait hummm they might suspect something that way. I dunno... Check your contract.
