Hi everyone..i am ravi from Mumbai india..i got offer from eBay..US made bold 9900 with disclaimer that BBM and BlackBerry services won't work in India..is there any way I can get it fixed by reinstalling the OS or any sideloading ..please suggest a way..i love my Z10 But I want to have Bold 9900

Seller mentioned that as it is imported device it won't register for BlackBerry server in india..

I am clueless also...seller mentioned that you won't have BlackBerry Messenger services ,instead we need to run on logic mail.....BBM won't work but WhatsApp wud....bis won't but other data plan

That doesn't make any sense. Did you check with your carrier if they have BIS? I have a bad feeling that the pin may have been blocked is the reason.

As long as it is unlocked and you get a BIS plan it will work.

The device is mostly blocked. I too have seen that listing. Just buy from elsewhere. You won't be able to use this phone at all, since without BIS, your BlackBerry is pretty much useless! Except for listing to music or just for making calls.

I don't know the specifics of this phone from eBay. But a regular unlocked 9900 with a bis plan will work. Mine did when I went to India.

Buy from Olx, get a 2nd hand, change its housing . Or try eBay.com. Most of the sellers do ship to India.

The description of the problem you're having sounds like someone suggesting how to use your blackberry WITHOUT BIS in your service provider.

If you SIM provider (cell phone service provider) provides BIS service and you have paid for it (or turned it on) and you've "registered" and have all the routing tables you WILL have BIS working on your device.

Does the device make phone calls? receive/send text?

Call your cell phone provider. they'll help you.

If you want. do a full WIPE (the full one. not the factory restore) and get the latest 7.1 build and you should be fine.

with the same story like you . I have a z 10 and the screen freezes with new Os when i receive call and it is really irritating to hear the ring in the ear after swiping the finger to receive call . Let me tell you Q5 has the same problem . I tried,.
so the main point is I just purchase one BB 9900 unlocked from ebay . same around 7K. it was agamble, as I already have a z10 for emails and bbm.
as rightly said by the seller BBM or any BB related services do not work on it ,... I tried searching for answers and came to this forum.
I have yet to try complete wipe as suggested. WApp works just fine . browsing is also fine . but you can not link to BB server or use desktop software.
but who cares .... the phone is just great for the man who dials 100 numbers a day . hell with phones like Z10 without BB key pads.
Os 7 is just great . I also have 9930 but side rubber keys get worn out within an year. bad design. bold is just great for calling people from directory.

The problem is simple. It seems that you bought a Q10 which has been block by BlackBerry. You Q10 is on the black list - maybe someone sell this phone, and go to police with information that it was stolen from him - so on 99% you won't be able to use and connect BlackBerry Services. Maybe you can contact with BlackBerry directly(Twitter, mail?) and tell them about your problem.
