I contacted Onenote to see if I could download the app on my BlackBerry 10 device and this was their response.

Thanks for expressing your support for a BlackBerry version of OneNote. Our engineers have investigated the possibility of releasing the Android version of OneNote on BlackBerry, and unfortunately, it appears that will be difficult to do?we were hoping it would be easy to get OneNote for Android running on BB10, but that hasn?t been the case. Given our current priorities, and the work required to do this, we can?t commit to doing this for the foreseeable future. Sorry for the bad news, but we wanted to be clear about where we?re at and that we did investigate the possibility of doing this.

Got an email too about it today. We voted to see if they could create a native or port the android one... guess none was easy enough.

I love One Note. If I can find the time, I will either do an add on to my task app with One Note sync or a totally new One Note app.

    What so great about OneNote?
I'm not saying it's a bad product just want to know how people use it.
I once tried and didn't find that useful for me - perhaps I didn't use it right...

    Got the same email today.

They can't officially allow MS Office or any of its components on BB10, for strategic reasons, I guess. BBRY is making inroads in enterprise...

Unless is a company specific. I would say to switch to Evernote.

    Far better application.

I also received the same email yesterday and my answer was the EverNote app, to hell with them. It really pisses me off when allot of these developers who got there start with BlackBerry, just abandon the brand all together?

WeatherBug is one of them, that was one of the first apps I bought way back when I was on Nextel here in the USA.

I still sent them a nasty email about them ditching the BlackBerry app, all I got was some generic response email. Nothing is personal anymore, it's all about money and that's a dam shame.

How did you guys get the app to work? I try to side load it and the splash screen opens up but as soon as I click to sign on it crashes!! I have downloaded different versions all with the same result. Any help would be appreciated

It's strange that BlackBerry can put BBM on Microsoft phone but Microsoft can't put onenote on BlackBerry. Where are the better engineers then?

I think it's more of "who is more desperate?". It's not like they can't, they just don't want to devote resources to it right now.

Evernote requires another bloody account though. I tire of so many accounts and don't feel like another. I'd opt to sideload instead.

You are telling me the best stuff comes out of desperation? When's Apple hitting their next innovation desperation cycle.

I haven't tried the app on BlackBerry 10 myself, but my guess is that the way the UI fits onto a square screen, or perhaps the performance, doesn't meet certain internal standards, and they didn't want to bother making adjustments. Good enough for most people may not be good enough for MS - corporations have reputations to uphold.

It's certainly unfortunate for BlackBerry, yes, but it's hardly shocking at this point. Just another example of how difficult an issue the app gap can be.

Apple keeps a lot of stuff exclusive to iOS/Mac OS.

What I meant was that if Microsoft/BB wasn't in a "bad spot" they wouldn't have made Office/BBM cross-platform and kept is exclusive to their own OS.
