Hey, I lost my BlackBerry z3 charger along with the data cable. I've tried looking everywhere for an original BlackBerry charger, but haven't been able to get it either online or offline (in India). I need to buy a non-BB charger but don't know what specs (especially milli-amperes of output) should I be looking at.

    Help would be appreciated.

Use a charger with max 850 mA output.

Used anything that is around at the time, and BlackBerry playbook 2.0 amps at home, never a problem.

850 mA is the approved one as stated in the safety documentation. Of course you can use a charger with higher current as long as it's not heating up, however your battery service life will be less.

Agreed. Sometime I use old Curve charger when there is a luxury of leaving the phone on charge for whole night. Higher Amp chargers are alright if early retirement of battery is not a problem for you.

It's the output voltage of the charger that needs to be correct for the battery. mAh is the current rating the charger is capable of...but the phones internal circuitry determines how much current is being drawn during the charge process. Nearly all phone chargers with USB type connectors will be capable of charging the z3.
