I bought a z30 a week ago from someone. The phone was almost new, barely used, all screws intact and seals there too. I verified the phone very thoroughly, but forgot one single thing: the audio jack. Every other aspect of the phone is just perfect, the phone is flawless.

Two days later, I wanted to test the sound in my headphones, but I had an unpleasant surprise to see that it doesnt work. The headphones are not even recognized, tho I tried 3 different pairs, even one 9900 original bb pair.

Since I installed 10.3.1 a few moments later after bought it, I thought that the system could be bugged, and reverted back to 10.2.1 with a fresh BB Link reload software. That didn't work either, so I am thinking now that the problem could be hardware.

Did anyone have an issue similar? Does anyone know if I can change just the top audio module/jack or I must buy the hole middle/bezel stuff?

Middle frame for GSM is so cheap and easy to replace...I would not bother with jack...not sure where to find one for Verizon , although.

I checked with Bbve and it doesn't recognize the headphones.
I ordered a middle frame from eBay and I am waiting to arrive at the beginning of March, since the phone was bought from someone, and I didn't get the papers too.

Thanks guys for answers, I will post after I replace the middle frame. Hopefully isn't a motherboard issue.

    Update:

I bought a middle frame (the full assembly) and changed it. The problem persists, the audio jack is still not recognized.

So after all this I suppose the issue is either on the motherboard, either in the software, but I tend to think it is hardware.
