Depends, if it's an android ported app running in the Android Runtime "sandbox", yes, it takes a couple of seconds to come up.

Yeah probably a beta version, even so that's what updates will be for to improve on performance, even my Galaxy Note 4 and Nexus 5 lag

Love how everyone expects OS actions to be instant.... reminds me of the computer days when people would pat $500 more for a "souped" up PC that loaded a program 2 seconds faster... all relative... unless it actually stops your productivity which I cannot believe a couple of seconds matters... what is the issue... but I guess to some it does... as mentioned ...would be nice to wait till the actual final version device is released to pass judgement....

How long does it take to open an app on your PCS or Mac? People never cease to amaze me with their comments. Enough said.

I believe he is referring to the article on the main page of CB. Something about BB showing off the tool belt functions on the Classic.

As for the "lag" I opened my weather app at the same time that he does in the video and it took the same amount of time to open as my Passport. Not sure what "lag" the OP is talking about.

Amazingly for a PC that has not had a recent OS wipe and restore, about as long as it did in the 90's when I first started using PCs. Lol. The apps are a lot prettier though. And they do more.

Is that PC using a 1000 rpm Hard drive or something? Really doubt that as technology improved tenfold.

My Passport with it's often called for Snapdragon 801 quad-core doesn't open the same weather app any faster than the BlackBerry Classic in this video!

Well how many licks does it take to get to the center....... That may or may not be official Device / OS maybe he was deep inside a huge office building and it took a second for the GPS to catch up, who knows. Wait for official review or hands on.
Also this device is aimed at people who won't give up their Bold's, so anything will seem fast to them...lol
