    Hi,
I know that AT&T doesn't carry the Z30, but pardon my ignorance, can I get it online and connect it to AT&T? Will it work?

On this link, it says that it will not work on verizon, sprint, or us cellular, but does that mean that it will work on AT&T?

    Thank you

For the sake of simplicity, yes. It'll work on AT&T but likely only on 4G/HSPA+, no LTE.

I am currently using a Verizon Z30 on at&t and I get better LTE signal on it than I did on my -5 model.

Thanks. So on shop BlackBerry, I can buy the z30 -5. But on the compatibility list that I saw on this link, the -1 is better. That is correct, right?

To answer brief, yes. But the -1 is rare. If you can get your hands on one you may over pay. The -5 would work for you or the Verizon model. I tossed my wifes att sim in mine and it worker fine.

Pretty doubtful that STA100-1 was ever produced beyond prototypes. Get the STA100-5 and you may get LTE, may not, it's a gamble. Phone works great regardless and highly recommended.

As stated by others, the 5 model works on AT&T. I even get some LTE coverage with mine and I live in the middle of nowhere, but mostly only 4G.

I took the sim card out of my work IP4S and put it in my Verizon Z30 and it worked perfect. I did not get LTE in places you would think but when I did I would pick it up in the middle of no where and along the freeways.

So yes let er rip tater chip and berryon

Thanks for asking the question and the corresponding responses. I had the same question as well.

If I don't get LTE, that is fine as HSPA+ is fast enough for me. Most things I download (podcast, stream videos) is usually done in wi-fi.

LTE is not worth it on ATT or TMobile.
I keep it off since HSPA+ is plenty fast, plus it saves battery.

Well, if there are any left next week, I'll probably get two. No LTE "should" mean even better battery life than what has already discussed in other threads.

Oh really?! Where do you live? I occasionally pickup an LTE signal on my STA100-3 but it is still slow. I am also running At&t on a Verizon Z30.

I have the -2 version and get 4G on AT&T. I came from a Z10 which got LTE. I much prefer the Z30 and don't really notice the difference in data speed.

That's not quite true. The Z30 blackberry sells unlocked supports the LTE bands that att uses. I've confirmed that my Z10 (bought from att) connects with bands that the Z30 supports.

That is correct and it uses the much less common frequency too. Band 17 (700 MHz) is the most widely used LTE band that AT&T uses. In some areas they use Band 4 (1700 MHz). If you are using a -5 on AT&T and you are getting LTE, then you are in a Band 4 area which is kind of rare. AT&T also uses a couple of other LTE bands. Band 2 and Band 5. Those are very rare and only in very limited areas. The Verizon Z30 and the -5 GSM version do not use Band 2 or Band 17 at all.

Band 17 is the most used ATT LTE band, which the z30 does not support.

Band 4 is much less used, but is supported. If you are not sure, run an app like LTE Discovery on a device on ATT with LTE and see what band it is using.
