    Hello CrackBerry Nation,

today I was wondering if I can remove Amazon Appstore from my BlackBerry Passport or at least logout from it. Unfortunately there is no regular way to do it. Few people was asking on CB forums as well but without success. Until... in one thread was a tip for CCleaner app. So I gave it a try and <fanfare> it works. So here is a quick guide if you want to remove Amazon Appstore from your BlackBerry or so...

HOW TO: Uninstall, Logout or Reinstall Amazon Appstore from BlackBerry 10.3+-img_20141106_232800.pngHOW TO: Uninstall, Logout or Reinstall Amazon Appstore from BlackBerry 10.3+-img_20141106_233757.pngHOW TO: Uninstall, Logout or Reinstall Amazon Appstore from BlackBerry 10.3+-img_20141106_233801.png

    1. Open Amazon Appstore and log in (or SNAP if you don't want to login to the Amazon Appstore at all)
    2. Find and install app called CCleaner in Amazon Appstore or SNAP
    3. Open CCleaner
    4. Click to the top left corner and choose App Manager from the menu
    5. Check the checkbox next to Appstore
    6. Press UNINSTALL

This is 100 % reliable process! If you want to install Amazon Appstore again just search for "Amazon Appstore install" in native browser and you can download installation .apk file just from Amazon. When you install it, you can login again with another account or you can just leave it rest in peace...

The only issue is Ccleaner takes forever to scan my apps. Does this happen to you? Should I delete and reinstall?

It could take little bit longer, but it's fine. Just give it a time...

Amazon Appstore app was still there after ccleaner displayed a successful message. Reboot did not help either.

So since when does this app need my Contacts, Device ID, Phone numbers, Shared Files, Location? My reason to uninstall AppStore and Amazon is because of this very reason. On the off chance it gets rid of the Amazon crap, how do I get rid of CCleaner???

It's ingrained in the OS. Pretty sure absolutely nothing removes it.

After updating to new OS .2576 on my PP, I couldn't do anything with amazon appstore. I would open it, hit accept on permissions and then it would close. I downloaded ghost commander and went to the amazon appstore app. Be selecting the prompt to delete, it deletes it from that screen but keeps it on your device. After selecting amazon appstore again, screen opens up as black, after a few seconds it gives me a permissions screen. After selecting it, I then am taken to the login screen. Now I can access the appstore again. I know this doesn't delete the appstore as some have wanted but if you are just wanting to be able to access the amazon appstore again, this little maneuver worked for me.

I think what is installed with the OS 10.3.+ is just an icon that when opened triggers the installation of Amazon app store. That's why when you use this CC Cleaner to delete it, it still shows an icon on your device. The app itself is no longer there, but the icon remains because it's integrated into the OS. If you never open the icon from day one, then you don't have Amazon app store on your device, just an icon and an uninstalled apk that it links to.

like how you would sideload using this chrome extension after turning on the developer mode on the phone, uninstall it using this way. it seemed to have worked for me. n btw, amazon app store won't be in the top along with other apps, i found it at the bottom titled as com.amazon.v*something* which i dont remember clearly.

I had the same experience. Ran Ccleaner app, selected Amazon app and Amazon App Store to uninstall. The app icons are still there, and they still work. However, when I open Ccleaner again to try and remove the two Amazon apps, they do not appear in the menu.

Great idea. I can tolerated the amazon app store but the amazon (underground) app is really annoying especially when it needs to be updated. I'll be using the chrome plugin to remove the underground app once-and-for-all.

Just uninstalled amazon underground app using the "BB10 / PlayBook App Manager". The app was a pain and all it did was ask to update things that could not be updated. It won't be missed.

Edit: spoke to soon, amazon app ended up installing again automatically. It's the original preinstalled version so I'm just leaving it alone.
