I bought a Passport with the infamous copuon code because I love my iPhone 5s, but hate the battery life. I've been using the passport for 2 days now. I am getting used to it, but one thing really bugs me...when I'm looking at webpages in the browser, the images looks scaled poorly or compressed, therefore the quality of photos in the web browser look bad.. Is this some sort of setting on the device that I can fix or modify? It also happens with the Blackberry Facebook app. All the images look poor in comparisson to iPhone.

I really hope this is just a setting that I'm overlooking and that it can be tweaked. Please advise. Thanks.

The images in my browser are fine and I surf a lot on my Passport.

Please provide screenshots (hold the up and down volume buttons at the same time for 2 seconds) of webpages so we can see what you're talking about.

Yes, I've experienced the same issue with my browser, as well. I've taken some screenshots of my Facebook newsfeed to show you what she means. I also have problems with the browser keyboard shortcuts, they don't work more often than not. Sadness, since I really loved my browser kb shortcuts on my Q10.

I'm assuming a software update will probably fix the issue, so I'm just hanging in there till my carrier pushes one out. My PP currently has the 10.3.0.738 release, hoping .908 or higher sorts it out.

najibs, what happens when you reload (click L key to reload) the the webpage? For me, the images resize to a much smaller size. A bit too small, but at least it's not oversized and distorted.

    Images too large:

What happens if you reload the webpage? Does the image sharpen up and/or resize to a normal size? Or does the image remain the same? Never had any issues with my Q10's images, so hopefully a MR update will fix this issue.

Have you tried clearing your cache, etc? In the browser, select Overflow menu > Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear History, and Clear Cookies and other Data. Also, do you have the same issue when it's set to Desktop Mode (browser Overflow > Settings > Developer Tools > Desktop Mode)?

Here's another image of CNN (since your image was cnn) too, showing the same blurriness, as well.

Google Images on the browser is a big problem as well. Ended up installing the Google app from Snap and use it for image searches instead.

That's so weird, I don't seem to have the same problem with google images search results being blurry, as I do FB and other website's photos.

Thanks for the image iSuni, such a huge difference. Quite a frustrating issue, which I hope is resolved sooner than later, because I use my phone's browser extensively.

Oh, I just noticed you didn't click on "Full-sized image" in the google images. It won't show full quality till you click on that, it save data by not displaying the full resolution images.

What happens when you open the full sized image in the native browser? Does it resize properly?

You have to click "full sized image" in the browser. It does that to increase speed and decrease data usage. It's the same on a laptop even.

Fair enough, I accept that and did already know that. With a screen like the Passports though, I'd prefer to view full-sized images when scrolling through the thumbnails in the gallery view.

Yes, clicking on full-size will open a full res photo. Thank god google image search is working fine for me, and display full quality just fine. This is different than the image issues najibs and I are experiencing.

If you enable Desktop Mode in the browser's settings, that should do the trick for you.

They need to fix this issue with the browser. Like poster above stated whn its an image I want to look at I use google chrome browser and its flawless the BlackBerry one is horrible. Its like they try to force fit it to screen and comes out blurry.

Agreed. Hopefully fixed soon. When I get around to it, I might try updating to the newest official release via Sachesi to see if it helps, but najibs has the newest .908 and is still experiencing the image issue, so doubtful. Not sure if it will take another new MR update, or possibly 10.3.1 in November-ish to fix the issue.

My Q10 has this exact same issue so it must not be limited to the Passport. You have to click the full-sized image button in the top right hand corner to actually see the image in high-res.

    so annoying.

    I am running 10.2.1.2976.

If you had the Passport I'd suggest enabling Desktop mode, so then you can view hi-res without having to click on "full-sized image", but I found my Q10 screen too small for that option. As mentioned previously, that mobile 'feature' is so one can save on data charges, but would definitely be nice to have the option to choose which way they're viewed while the mobile mode is enabled.
