I had some queries, hope the Forum can help :

    1. I do not have/use BES/BIS. Is the Z10 still worth it I use it WITHOUT a BB plan?
    2. Are all the Apps functional only thru WiFi?
    3. Not that I use Android currently, but I have read about 'sideloading'....Question is : how is running android apps on z10?

I currently use a BB 8520 . Yes...I know, its really old school, but it serves me well. Only thing is that, the apps only work thru WiFi...which is a bit inconvenient when I am on the road/car etc.. I do not have BIS/BES on the phone. I got tired of 'touch phones' so went back to the BB 8520 Curve, but it really is old....so I was wondering if spending $$ a z10 would be worth it. Thanks in advance for the replies.

    Hi,
You do not need BES/BIS on z10 for apps like BBM or facebook to run so you can use them on your regular net plan just fine, as far as the android apps go you don't need to side loading them anymore as android runtime has been added so any android app you download is installable on the z10 directly via the amazon app store for example, as to if it is worth to have a z10..yes it is a great daily driver.

You CANNOT use BIS on a OS 10 phone. Yes, you can load and run Android apps from a place like Amazon, though many may be 3rd party. I believe to make Google Play work, you still need Snap. I just use Amazon and have no trouble running them on cell data network. But that may just be the apps I'm running. In fact, I just bought my second Z10, obviously I like the phone.

I switched back today to the z10. Was debating between z10 and q10. Went with the z10. Very happy so far! Most of my android apps are working aside from instagram but downloaded the alternative 'igrann' which works just as well.

The battery life of a Z10 is not that great though. If you want a really good device, I suggest you the Z30.

I would wait for the classic or buy a Passport. Both are awesome keyboard devices with good sized touchscreens

Sent from my awesome White Z30!

If you could find the Z10 for less than $200 brand new in box, then go for it.

Anything more, it is not worth it and too expensive.

Most of the Android apps work, but not all. The Snap client means that the one time installation of the app store is all you need to get the full access to the Google app store.
