    All wiping the device does is remove your personal files and take the device back to the factory OS. You'll have the opportunity to do the set up or install a different OS version on afterwards.

    As mentioned by @rthonpm, your phone should give you the option to install the latest OS offered by your carrier. If you don't see it right away or if you don't want to wait, plug your phone in to your computer and open BlackBerry Desktop Software (OS 7 phones and earlier) or BlackBerry Link (BB 10 phones) and it you should see new updates available via those.
