Does anyone know of a way to delete the drivers for the wifi, bluetooth, and browser - on an OS level - for BlackBerry OS 6??

I remember being able to take out bloatware and such, but are you able to remove these functions at the OS root level??

I work for the correctional system and am trying to modify phones to meet certain user's needs.

Those are core components. You can't remove them. Your only hope would be to block them on a BES.

    It's been a while...

You could use MCP or BBSAK to wipe the device (completely remove the OS) and then load a new OS version without the COD files for said things.

Not sure how the phone would behave as the OS would still call for the missing files when needed, but it's possible in theory.

Darn it boss. Way to spoil my first response counter.

    Thanks gentleman.

    Much appreciated!

I guess I can move to PM's now unless anyone out there has some other tips.

I was hoping to be able to create some along the lines of a developer OS where certain features are disabled like with some BB10 releases.

On that note, does anyone know of a way to do this with BB10 OS's??

    Again, thanks very much.

BB10 is heavily dependant on data. It just wouldn't work.

What I suggest is getting one of the older BlackBerry models that didn't really sport WiFi at all (xx10 models on OS 4.5 and 4.6). I bet you could just get rid of the browser there and see little to no impact on the OS.

Seems like the walls are closing in on this idea.

    Thanks again.

Not really, Bla1ze may have solved it best. BES. Or the FREE variant of BES: BESX.
