Is there a way to limit the music player the search directory to music folders only and not search all over, I don't want my personal Ringtones folder in the music player

Mine does this too. I believe it's just something you will have to deal with. At least all of mine hang out in an unknown folder.

Same. Tried several ideas to not have the ringtones play as I'm playing my music, but alas, they still do.

As a temporary workaround, move your ringtones into a folder under Voice - that one is not accessed by the music player

That's the work around I did, hope BlackBerry will add an option to limit the player with its search area

Just create a new text file, name it ".nomedia" (without the quotes) and put it in your ring tones folder. This way the Music App will ignore it's contents. It works for pictures and videos too.



You can create the file on your computer or directly on your device using Ghost Commander or a similar App.

Some time ago someone posted this little trick here in the forums.

I don't have this problem. Make sure your ring tones are in the ring tones folder and not the music folder. When downloading ring tones they sometime go to the music folder. When setting ringtones, I'll check both folders to find the time I want but my music app does not find those ringtones in the music folder.

Yep. Mine are in the ringtones folder and the music app plays them as I play music.
