After one week of use, I can safely say that I found the replacement for my laptop, tablet and Z30. Works almost as my Linux laptop when it comes to real work and multitasking and, apart from the smaller livestreaming screen in 16:9 aspect ratio, even better at multimedia than z30, because of the better RF transceiver, processor and antenna. The camera is also better.

Pretty much, but bear in mind that my laptop is used mostly for editing and creating files, presentations, reading emails, etc. and remotely logging into a real computer where I run my circuits and device simulations. In the latter case the laptop is just a display.

The Passport is pretty good at covering what I call the administrative work I do on my laptop.
In fact, hardwarewise the Passport is more powerful than a laptop from 5 years ago and if you need a big screen, you connect via the slimport and hdmi cable to a big screen TV.
But no, I have not given up on my work computer. For that even a the most powerful Mac is not powerful enough.

I've seemed to put down my ipad air as well. The garbage ios8 update is a big part of it but this passport is awesome. Tablet with a keyboard.

Nokia N900 was the first mobile computer! Even full desktop and OpenOffice was piece of cake for that machine ;-).

I have never tried that, so I do not know, but it could not have been as fast as the passport and with this keyboard and screen resolution.
The screen, keyboard and hardware speed and memory make the difference when it comes to using it as a laptop.
Yes, I miss openoffice but I do not want to use the android app for that!
I am waiting for blackberry to create a secure openoffice app and a secure ssh app with x11 forwarding.

I wish BlackBerry would release a doc for the Passport with HDMI. The Z10 one was pretty useful and now the screen is square and the port is on the bottom of the passport a dock would be so perfect!!!
