Sometimes I receive emails right away. Other times I receive them hours later and sometimes they pop up after I swap out my batteries. Anyone else experiencing this fun and excitement on their device?

    Cheers

Not on my z10 but was really bad my 9900. My wife's Samsung is terrible for that. There might be a setting for that but I'm not sure I haven't had myz10 a week yet lol

The battery success might be due to low signal coverage and data is not being transmitted till you have a full battery???

I always have battery of 50% or above. I carry around a spare battery and do a swap half way through the day.

    What's push? I think it's on a 5 minutes delay.

Just checked. Push is off. Shall I turn it on?? But will this not chew my battery even more! I'm on a z10 and the least amount of battery chewing the better. Lol

That's why... at 5 mins, you'll get email anywhere from instant to 5 mins.

Try to switch push one and see the impact on battery. If you don't receive much emails, there shouldn't be much a difference.

I had the Z10 before and I had push set on 5 different emails, plus the usual social networks. My battery lasted about 8 hours... gives you an idea.

PS: Push means that the email server "pushes" the email to your phone when they receive it. It's instant.

As opposed to "pull" where your phone logs in at regular intervals to see if you have any emails. (in your case 5 mins)

The reason this works after a battery pull is because when the phone restarts it goes out and fetches (checks) for any new email as part of its start up process. So in a way you are just force checking your email accounts.

Whether I work from my office PC or my Mac book, emails always arrive on my Z10 a good 15-20 seconds before.

Using Microsoft Office 365 as my email service. .

Is anyone with Rogers who has a "@rogers.com" email account? I had the Z10 when it first launched and my Rogers emails weren't pushed, but my Hotmail emails were. I just ordered a Z10 and will get it next week. I'm just curious if the Rogers emails are push now.
