I know that I'm asking for too much.
The passport must be a great device and this thread should rather have been about what it has, instead of what it doesn't. But even the best of planners sometimes forget to carry a beer opener to watch the game, or a knife to a Halloween pumpkin dressing competition.

I thought of the "Stylus", this is missing on the passport and this would have complemented the big screen.

You can always buy a stylus to use with it. I'm glad there's no stylus holder in the Passport. It would just take up valuable space.

Even if it would have helped in some cases, I think it's too small to benefit from a stylus.

It wouldn't be the same thing... a capacitive stylus is just a replacement for your finger, just as imprecise.

I believe BlackBerry phones are geared toward business-type people and a stylus is more beneficial to artists. The touch sensitive keyboard is super intuitive and the more I use it the less I even touch the screen at all. #fingerprintfree

A stylus is pointless except you're drawing on your phone which probably would be as impractical as the stylus anyway...

I thought the stylus died with the Palm Pilot

Really, I don't find it necessary but just something to lose.

Never saw Galaxy Note owners using the stylus. I had one of those PDA/phones that you would use a stylus to work on it, and it was terrible. The Iphone was revolutionari in that respect, was a touch device that you could use with your hands, way more handy than using a stylus

I've seen Galaxy owners use their styluses.. styli.. whatever.

I use the one on my Venue Pro 8 fairly often too.

Marking notes on PDF documents, drawing diagrams, etc... you don't have to be an "artist" to want/need a stylus.

That's because they were resistive touch-screens. Modern active digitizer + stylus combinations are much better.

Stylus would be great for signing documents and it won't have hurt BlackBerry to give it as an option.

As a Surface Pro owner, I find stylus over rated. I know people talk about marking Excel & PDF documents, but in reality this would cause another workflow to worry about. You would need to take that document and clean up all those extra scribbles. This usually mean larger file size and more time cleaning up (compared to typed comments). Both not good on a phone sized device.

Usually you want to collaborate on a white board, not on a phone.

As for drawings, I believe everyone think they are Picasso, but reality, the scribbles are hard to translate.

the one thing they forgot was some form of wireless charing or charging contacts. The Playbook implementation of this feature with the magnet fit is something they should have carried over.

I really hope BlackBerry comes out with an official dock soon. The charging points were ideal for keeping the battery up, but a USB/Slimport dock has its advantages. Regardless, this phone is screaming for a docking/charging station on my nightstand.

I rather have a mouse pointer. With the hi-res screen, fingers are too fat to select small items, especially with the browser. Use the touch keyboard to control a small pointer like a track pad would be fantastic.

I wouldn't use it at all. The only time I used a stylus was on my Galaxy note for notes at school. Probably the only thing I would ever use it for. To be honest the more that BlackBerry makes their devices geared for business the more I like them. Who would of known haha.
