Day one i was at 62% when i left work at 5. Today i turned the brightness down and was at 80% when i left work. For comparison my z10 was normally at 80% by the time i got to work and i dont know the battery life for the z10 after that as for months i had to just keep it plugged in all day.

    The battery is amazing

I have a note 3 as well and the battery life on that is amazing. But on the passport it lasts at least 30% longer than the note

    Just excellent

I am just glad you got your passport. I thought you were going to kill someone or have a seizure the other day trying to get your hands on one. Haha

I also can't believe how good the battery is. I had a Z10 before and if I had to go out for a few hours without the ability to recharge then I would be fretting. Not now. I left the house at 11am with 100% and came back at 5.30pm at 83%. This smartphone is great.

I went two days within a charge with moderate to heavy use and my screen is fairly bright. I haven't done that with a smartphone in years! Very happy with this device.

Extremely happy with this battery, every time I look at it and i can't help but to smile!

It's been years since I've had a battery that can last more than a day, or even the entire day! Man can I tell you, this is freaking awesome!

Same as that, my Z10 would always be dead and during at least 2 of my hour and a half lectures I'd have it plugged in because it'd be about to die, then I'd still have to plug it in around 7/8 or else it'd be dead by the time I got to sleep! This is a VERY welcome change and definitely an amazing phone!

Is it alright if you guys comment again in like a week? I have noticed that when you install a fresh os (from an autoloader), the battery life is good at first, then it gets shorter and shorter after a while likely due to increased processing.

my first every charge, on the first day, goes more than 24 hours, and that is with setting up, sync'ing accounts, few thousands of emails, WA and bbm, calls, etc..and that is without WIFI. this phone stays forever. my lumia 930 can't live more than 12 hours of a working day.

I get a 24 hours off charger with moderate to heavy use. That's more than enough for me. Very pleased. Best smartphone I have ever had regarding battery performance. Saves me from buying those dreaded extra battery chargers and never need to charge in the car, on the go, unless I forgot to charge after 24 hours.

I agree. Battery is about the same as Z30 but the Passport has a somewhat bigger screen.
Editing files is a pleasure, better than on the Z30 and the Playbook.
Camera is much higher resolution than on Z30.
The reception in weak signal areas when live streaming HD TV is better than on Z30. May be due to the smaller screen occupied by the hdmi image on the Passport.

The only? disappointment compared to Z30 and the Playbook is connecting through a cable to an HDMI monitor to watch TV or do a slide presentation. The aspect ratio is not adjusted to the monitor screen as on the Playbook and Z30. The slimport to hdmi adapter does not work very well.

Yes, the Z30 is a better media device but none of them beat flash on the PlayBook for live streaming to a big external monitor.
I was hoping to get rid of both my tablet and my laptop.
It seems that I will hold on to the Playbook and the Z30 because they are better multimedia devices!
Hopefully, the multimedia function on the Passport will be improved in the next OS release.

Same.... even after early starts around 6am, at night before bed I still have more than 50% power remaining. I use the device all day, extensively, and notifications are ongoing!

When you're mirroring your display, this is true. However when watching a video. Selecting the "more" button (three dots) and selecting Play On, the.

Only issue here is when using the likes of Netflix APK, which doesn't support outputting directly via HDMI, rather just mirroring the screen.
