Saudi Arabia is not much talked about in the forums based on my few times browsing around the forums, so I gust wanted to let everyone know that the Passport is now sold out here. Both Black and White versions. I'm getting a black for me and a white for my wife. Release date is 13th October.

That's an extra 450SAR = 120$
I can confirm that all my friends will get on the PassPort wagon when there is the white and gold version available just like what happened with the high end gold/white Q10, heck it was sold for a higher price and always out of stock.

Simple...BBRY is controlling the supply and demand. Only produce and ship what's needed. This is to decrease the inventory right down. Smart move by BlackBerry IMO

Yeah...white will be available here from the 13th (sold out though) but I'm not sure if and when the gold will come. yeah prices here are almost always a minimum $100/- higher than the official price and we never get good contracts here from the network providers, so everyone buys upfront.

When it comes to contracts STC, Mobily and Zain SA gives very long and expensive contracts that people here don't like because they like to buy and sell mobile phones when they see something new and attractive just out of curiosity.
They can't lock these freebirds with a contract lol

IMHO, they're controlling the supply chain so that it won't end up like the Z10. Playing it safe and smart now. :-)

Update: The passport was postponed for delivery to 19th October (Earlier 1st October, then 12th October)

Also, they increased the price by SAR 100/- which is basically $26/-

Definitely great demand for the device here in Saudi Arabia, I don't mind paying the extra for the device 1 more day! But since I preordered 20 days ago when the price was SAR2,699/- I should get it for the same price
