Call me batty, but my favorite all-time cell phone was the 9900. My wife and I have ordered newer phones then later on dislike them for whatever reason, and then migrate back to the 9900, and use it until we decide on the next best and greatest phone to get. Easy to do this as being a manager at AT&T(wireline) we get pretty good concessions on phones and rates. My wife last year got the Z10 but just never did get comfortable with the gestures. She now has an Apple 5S and is reasonably ok with it. I have been using a Galaxy Note 2 for the past year, and it's ok I guess. I have a new Apple 6 Plus that I should be receiving in a month, the 126GB version (I don't know why I ordered it, just did) . But lord it's expensive, and I do believe I'm going to take it back when received (can't cancel the order as it's "in progress of being shipped" I'm told). Also, I'm kinda getting tired of phablets in general. So my question is I'm thinking of migrating to the Z10 as it's basically a new phone, and I can save all that money. I could really care less of gaming, browsing the internet, etc. on a phone. Email, messaging, call quality, and listening to music or podcasts is what I use a phone for. You all that use the Z10 regularly...how good is it for doing these? My wife led me to believe the gestures and swipes were hard to figure out on this phone. How would you rate this phone against other BB phones? I've been away from BB for a year and a half so I am clueless on the newest OS. Thanks, sorry I rambled a bit .

It's a perfectly fine device, regarding everything, beside that infamous battery life. And that's the sum of everything everyone here will tell you. Very soon it should get 10.3.1 update so it will be fresh experience all over again, as 10.3.1 is quite a big rehaul of current 10.2.1 OS.

Oh, and don't trust your wife!
Believe me, and everyone else will say the same thing, once you get used to gesture based OS like this one, you will realise how easy and intuitive the experience it is. You will forget stuff like home or back buttons very soon. So, don't be afraid if gestures. It took me a whole 2 hours the first moment I turned on my phone, to get familiar with everything, if even that much...

Only issue I had with Z10 - battery - is easily solved by BlackBerry Battery Charger Bundle.

Otherwise Z10 it's iPhone 5 class of device. If you have MS Exchange email account, the BlackBerry 10 is way ahead of everything else.

Don't forget to update it to 10.2.1

Give it a try and you will see for yourself.

I never owned a BBerry before the Z10. Like you, gaming and the toy aspect, has never been important to me. I bought mine when they first came out in the US (tmo) and a couple weeks ago, bought a second. The gestures for the phone are simple, intuitive. You'll get used to the virtual keyboard quickly. Because I'm on tmo and use wifi-calling 80% of the time, battery is rarely an issue for me. But most people complain about battery life. (Also, have found that setting my network for 4G and not LTE saves battery, though on at&t those choices are, I believe, not available.) Battery "bundles" are inexpensive right now. I can't think of another phone I would rather have. Good luck. If you get one and have any issues, this is a great forum to help sort. But, I doubt you will.

I have been rocking my Z10 for over a year and for me it fits my needs better than anything else. Yes the battery life could be better but I carry a powerbank & no problems. I travel a lot and have had no issues staying in contact anywhere I've been. Running 10.2.1 at the moments & can't wait for 10.3. You'll get the hang of it in no time & I don't think you'll look back or regret the move. Rocking 24-7 with my Z10 & 16GB PlayBook

I have had the same Z10 since it came out. It's an awesome phone. The gestures are easy to use, you will wonder how you managed to live without them once you get used to them.

Gestures ruined me for any other phone out there. I feel like I'm back in the 2000s with anything with a home button.

You will not be disappointed with the Z10. I can truly say it is a great device, and you will wonder to yourself why didn't I get this phone in the first place. Give it a shot...... :-)

I, like you, would have to say the 9900 was my favorite device. Probably because I like physical keyboards but the operation system on the z10 far surpasses that of the 9900. I had no problems with the gestures because they are common to the PlayBook which I also own.

As with anything new it may take a minute to get used to the gestures but I'm sure you'll have them to a science so fast it will soon be second nature.

Buttons are just old skool. I also bought the z10 because it was cheap. Actually it s the cheapest phone I ever bought new. I really like that, I have no case no screen protector, it doesn't matter because the z10 is a strong phone and cheap.

I finally can use a phone like a phone and not treat it like a panda baby.

If battery issue and listening to music is your thing, get a Z30 from shop Blackberry.com. speaker quality is very good on Z10, but the Z30 blows it away. Battery life is sometime twice as good. As for cost it is pricey if you already have a Z10 (duh) but less than half of the iPhone 6 you are returning. those two areas are the only real differences.

The Z10 is a great phone, you will love it I'm sure.

As you have the phone already I can see no down side other than investing time migrating.

Just curious if you love the 9900 so much why the z10? Would not the q series be a better choice?

    I went from 9900 to z10 to q5 to q10 to q5
