I assume that the Passport is being built at Foxconn. Has this been confirmed by Mr. Chen, and is it assumed all BB's are now built by Foxconn going forward? I hope they pick up the pace so I can see what all the excitement is about!
Ready to order Chen, get them out there.

I thought I heard that the Passport was not built by Foxconn, but not 100% sure.

Last I heard Foxconn is NOT building Passports.
BlackBerry still builds the high end models.

OK thanks, I guess that's a good thing if BB does a better job than Foxconn.
I hope they can handle the demand....

i only wish BlackBerry had got more units out there to meet the initial surge of demand tht came with the excitment of the launch. now that most people have been denied the opportunity to get the device at first attempt, lots of people will choose to hold out for the price to drop

i'm sure the passport would have sold 2 million units in the launch weekend if the device had been available as opposed to the meager 200k units that has been sold so far

The Passport is made by BlackBerry. Foxconn makes the Z3 and will also make the classic.

Mr. Chen has stated that any high end device will still be built in house. I would assume that the Passport is considered high end?

Foxconn do have (2 iirc) factories in Mexico, but I'm not sure if they are the manufacturers of the Passport

Foxconn has two facilities in Jurez, Mexico, which were purchased from Motorola, and they build phones there as well as in Brazil. Not all their facilities are in China.

JC confirmed when he announced the deal with Foxconn that BlackBerry will still be designing and building their premium devices in-house. Foxconn was not involved with the Passport.
