How do you type for instance Hebrew on a Passport that has a Latin keyboard? On the Z10 you have a virtual keyboard that can be swiched between installed languages. For example I can switch between English and Hebrew keyboards with a single touch of a virtual button on my z10.

I would imagine but with mapping like it handles symbols. So in other words, a virtual keyboard appears above the physical that maps, in this case hebrew, letters to the physical keys and you would press the corresponding key.

So, if typing an "א" you would hit the language key, then a "mapped" hebrew keypad would appear above the physical one that would tell you that "א" corresponds to the physical "t" key.

I was at a BlackBerry event today and it was not clear how this behaves on a Passport. Someone even added a Cyrillic based language to their passport and switched to it but no virtual keyboard or character mapping appeared above the physical keyboard. Instead if you typed on the physical keyboard it produced some of the Cyrillic characters with word suggestions appearing but you didn't have the faintest idea what key mapped to what. Surely there's a need to be able to switch between, for instance English and a non Latin based language. This is a no brainer on the touch based BlackBerry 10 devices.

Seems they didn't think of everything. I think they had a similar issue with the Q10 for Hebrew. I remember someone on here asking about a Hebrew keyboard for the Q10. Couldn't find one. BlackBerry had no answers either.

Exactly there's plenty of screen real estate on the Passport just implement a virtual keyboard with support for the appropriate language characters. This is a show stopper for me I'll stick with my good old Z10 thank you very much.

so if I'm using two language inputs, e.i. English/Spanish...how would I get the "" and others like: , , , and . swiping on keyboard? does the os automatically show it up on the digital row?

if anybody spots a video on YouTube, please share the link.

    thanks.

Since the keypad is touch sensitive, it would be a nice addition if you could draw the characters on there.

A virtual appearence of other non-latin keyboards (for example above the characters on the symbol picker) when choosing the corresponding language (e.g. Hebrew) would be great for easier typing characters. Thanks to the BB Company would be certain!
