An annoying issue I've been experiencing as of late is the Z30's inability to get reception without turning the antenna off and then back on. For example, coming out of a subway tunnel the phone switches automatically from the X to emergency calls only symbol. In order to get any network though I have to power cycle the antenna every time. As soon as I do that I have 2-3 bars.

Is my antenna going bad or is Rogers being Rogers (wouldn't surprise me in the least)? In Toronto BTW.

Maybe this is dependent on your carrier and location. I never have to power cycle my antenna for it to work.

I've never had this issue with my Z30. I'd give carrier a call for sure.

Okay, probably is a provider issue. I did the same thing today, except had the Z30 limited to 4G and below and was able to gain full reception right out of the tunnel. Rogers strikes again, smh.

Yes, Like jaydee correctly said, its a carrier specific issue.

I'm on Vodafone and have experienced this many times on my Z10 and now occasionally on Z30. I think it get stuck while switching between 3G to 2G and vise versa.

But, Z30 does a solid job on signals. At my work, which is away from main city area, its a dream to have a proper working 3G signal. Everyone at my office switch to '2G Only' the moment they stepped in, just to save juice and to avoid call drops. Be it a Android, iphone. But Z30 shows how powerful paratek antenna is !! now with Z30, I can log in to CB forums in most of my office areas. I had never been able to get the 3G signals on my Z10 there.

Yep, I'll give them a call and see if I need a new sim card maybe. Awesome, I agree when it works it's a beast.
