I could have sworn that I read and saw in pictures that the Passport had backlit keys? Can anyone verify this?
If is does, how do I enable them?

Usually back-lit keyboards are enabled when the light sensor detects very little light. Try to cover the sensor near the top of the screen to see what happens.

I'm pretty sure the Passport does... I've seen a few pictures posted by actual users with the keyword lit up.

They do. They light up whenever the light sensor detects darkness

Got it working. Restarting it somehow got it going.

I just got the BlackBerry Passport and was wondering the same thing. Then I read that Tim restarted it and I did the same and it worked. Keyboard is now lit up

Yup, I was waiting to post this in the glitches thread if I ran across a few more people who had it happen to them. I did a reboot the first time it happened a couple of days ago, keyboard started lighting up again. Perfect, easy fix.

Then it did it to me last night again. This time I was typing a long .doc sheet, and I saw the keyboard go dark. This happened at the same time as the screen went quite a bit brighter. Something screwy afoot with the light sensor, me thinks. The weird part is that there appears to be no way to get the keyboard to light up again without a reboot.

I'll have to try running BBVE if it happens again.

EDIT: On both occasions I was typing in a very dark living room, the only light being from the TV we were watching.

UPDATE: Keyboard backlight has been working perfectly ever since that second incident. Just a little hiccup I guess.

Yes it has a light sensor and the backlit keys are enabled in darker lighting conditions.

You didn't bother reading this thread, did you? Reboot the phone.

It is so great to be able to turn to the CrackBerry Forums whenever an issue arises with my Passport. Last night my keyboard went dark and I didn't know what happened. I ran the Virtual Expert (BBVE) tests and it failed the light sensor tests. Then I searched here and found the suggestion to restart it. That did the trick! Keyboard is lit again and it passed the light sensor tests. Thank you to everyone here for being so helpful and sharing your knowledge and experience!
