I ordered the BlackBerry Passport on Wednesday morning on Amazon. I didn't receive any indication that they were on back order or if they didn't have enough on hand. Anyways, I chose 1 day shipping which cost approximately $20 and I received a estimated delivery date of Friday (today). Now first thing in the morning today I get an email update saying there is a delay, and it seems as if they are looking for the phone. It gave me the option to cancel the order or just wait until they "find" it. WTF? I don't quite understand how they could be having this issue. Does anyone else have the same problem? Did they oversell the amount of phones on hand? If so that is shady.

Sounds like they sold much better than expected. Overall that's great news, but it sucks for you I hope the delay isn't too long.

It's not shady at all. On Wednesday, it only let you "pre-order" the device that would be available on Thursday. They obviously didn't have all the numbers yet.

I feel your pain. I was also led to believe I ordered and paid for a Passport that was in stock but not really (ShopBlackBerry/ Digital River). Now I'm stuck waiting until who knows when. At least Amazon gives you the option to cancel, BlackBerry / Digital River won't let me.

They will compensate you for the delay if you call them but yeah I'm still waiting for mine too. It is good for BlackBerry but in the meantime I'm sad

Mine shipped from Shopblackberry.com yesterday and says it will arrive Wednesday next week. Fortunately it's my second one so I don't mind the wait

Yeah give them a call/email them and I bet they'll comp the one day shipping once they find a Passport for you.

Ya. That kinda bothers me as well. I can see them saying backordered or out of stock. But missing?

Aren't all shipments of this type in this day and age barcode scanned each step by handheld scanners?
