At this moment Passport seems to be out of stock from Canada, US, UK, and Germany ShopBlackBerry websites.

Also, I believe it was available on Amazon.com yesterday, but now it is showing as unavailable as well:
Amazon.com: BlackBerry Passport - Factory Unlocked Smartphone - Black: Cell Phones & Accessories

I know they probably did not ship a lot of units initially, but this is a good sign nonetheless as it shows that (a) they are managing inventory to avoid the Z10 write-down debacle, and (b) current sales figure of Passport is exceeding their own expectations.

It will be interesting to see if they talk about the Passport initial sales on the Friday meeting. Analysts always love forward looking information.

I hope they do because the consensus is a little negative on the street.

It's back up on amazon in the US, though it's through another seller for 799! Jeez! A good sign I guess if folks are buying them and then trying to resell them

Hmmmm I don't think blackberry can command the same kind of craze iphone generated selling after market. I'd like to think that blackberry users are not into paying anything more than they should.

Agreed, never going to generate the same kind of frenzy. I viewed it as a potentially positive for the device. Up to 899 now, question is will it last?

This is nice to hear, but it's been professed before with recent preceding devices.

I'd really like to know how many devices were provided to each of the vendors that are now sold out.

I have no idea what sales numbers BBRY would have to announce to either impress/depress the street. Even rational investors have no vague idea what to expect from BBRY sales numbers anymore because the company has kept the public in the dark for so long.

True. But the difference is the devices in TH era were mass produced and shortages were more planned. I say this because they had to take huge write downs.

I think they are more real this time. Does it mean large volumes like even one million? Likely not. But it does mean one thing they're not going to be writing down inventory.

And guess what? Everyone here predicting prices will drop and they will go buy then isn't going to happen.

I heard the same argument on Z3 launch. Too expensive should be cheaper blah blah and that it will fail and then will cost much less in a few months. My question to those people. Has the Z3 price dropped much? Let alone a lot? I don't think so.

Get used to the new BlackBerry. The Z10 / Q10 was one time fiasco. Those days are gone.

I reckon they've just produced enough to break even with the first production run and batch allocation, now everything they're selling from 6th Oct on will be new stock and making a profit...

The Z10 price drop won't be repeated. Get one while you can.

You also have to consider that if the phone is aimed at enterprise it takes those people time to set up deals. So they won't be selling big amounts for at least a couple months. If it's govt or funded by govt then maybe even a year

It's now back to out-of-stock on Amazon.

Also, we can add France to the list of countries that sold out. As of now, all countries on ShopBlackberry.com are sold out of Passport.

He's going to sell it for as much as he thinks someone would be willing to pay. If the price is too high it won't sell. Simple as that.

He's under no obligation to sell it at what any of us consider reasonable.
