With word that the Passport is an AT&T exclusive, I'm switching from VZW to ATT when the device is released.

    Anyone else?

Nope sorry. VZW might get something equally good.

Even though I don't want a Passport, I would never leave VZW for the service and coverage I get.
Hope you are able to get your Passport.

That's why I made the switch to GSM last year...to give me a broader choice of potential devices. With all the frequencies available on the Passport, I can use it to its full potential on T-Mobile.

Guess it does depend on coverage. Where I am ATT and VZW have similar service, so not losing much. If VZW had the advantage of better service I'd stick around, but not when they're the same.

I get ONE BAR with Verizon at my house. ATT gets 5 bars. I'm moving though next year so I'm a bit worried but hey - I need this Passport.

Sorry Verizon. It was fun while it lasted old friend.

If it's not an exclusive "forever", Verizon still won't get it for months. Possibly ever.

I'm highly considering switching, I'm going to give it a few weeks and see how this whole exclusive and release goes.

Would really love if Verizon changes their mind though.

Yup. Even as they bend me over their counter and take my wallet, I still can't leave.

I have awesome coverage on VZW. AT&T while probably getting better in my area I still can't make the switch.

I have 17 devices on VZW.

What I am considering doing it ordering on Shop BlackBerry and just using the Passport as an LTE/Wifi only device.

I usually carry a JetPack with me and am mainly in a 4G area so the Passport could replace the JetPack. On top of that the JetPack and the Passport both support Band 13.

My only hang up is that I have 6 upgrades and I could save $400.00 if the AT&T exclusive is only for a few months.

    Tough decision.

I'm gone + I'm probably taking a medium size state gov't agency with me. Everyone wants the passport. If my only option is att we are all moving.

You should give the device a test drive before switching in case it is not for you

I'm considering moving from sprint, but AT&T data plans are ridiculously expensive.
I'd like to have the passport, but part of me wants to hold out to see if Sprint gets the Classic

I'm going to check out amazon and hope their passport phones are Verizon compatible. Didn't have a good customer experience with AT&T

The Passport as it stands right now will not work on Verizon no matter what. Verizon only allows Verizon phones on their network. If the IMEI is not in their data base, then no go. A GSM unlocked phone will not work on Verizon. So unless Verizon specifically has BlackBerry build a Verizon CDMA phone for them, then no Passport will work on Verizon.

Remember the days when almost every release was available on all carriers? Why these carriers have to pick and choose is beyond me. AT&T does NOT support BB in any way shape or form. I would rather just see this available on amazon and shop blackberry then on AT&T

Good for you; too long the carriers decide what we can buy or we can't.

I told Rogers when the Z30 kiffaful occurred last year that it was adios after 15 years unless they gave me a Z30.

I will move. I refused to be held hostage by the carriers.

I think best way is to go buy your own handset outright. I understand the VZ band issue. But I think once they go VoLTE starting next year that problem goes away.

I am going to buy 3 passports over the next few months. Why? Because all the plans we have are no longer offered and they likely won't let us keep the plans for a 2 years contract.

I did the same thing. I wanted a fully compatible Z30 so I left AT&T and went to Verizon for the Z30. I hope this doesn't mean that all future BlackBerry's will not be available to Verizon customers. When the next all touch Blackberry comes out, if there is no Verizon version, I'm leaving Verizon for good.
