    I know you can work a micro sim into the 9900, but can you do the same with the 9700?????

    You can use an adapter on your SIM card. Have a read through this blog post:

    Yes. Same type of a SIM slot as the 9900, i.e. not closed off on the top. I used an adapter, but you don't really need it.
