Hey guys, saw this promotion on a deal site and thought I'd share it here. Devs, feel free to move to a more appropriate sub-forum if necessary.

Anyway, Microsoft is currently offering a promotion whereby OneDrive users can get an additional 15 GB of free storage by turning on the auto upload feature for pictures (and videos, if you choose) taken with your camera. You must redeem by September 30th to take advantage of the promotion, which is apparently tied to the iOS8 launch and recent controversy with Apple's cloud service.

To do so, follow these instructions:

    1. Install the OneDrive app on your mobile device (iOS, Windows, or Android)
    2. Open the app, then sign in or sign up
    3. Go to the app settings and enable Camera Backup
Note: When you enable Camera Backup, it may erroneously show you received only 3GB. Click here to verify you have received a 15GB "camera roll bonus."

***If you're a new OneDrive user, you'll also start with 15 GB of storage so with this promo you'll have a total of 30 GB!***

Here's a screenshot of my account after following the directions and checking my storage account via the BB10 Browser:

(I went ahead and disabled the auto upload feature once I confirmed my storage space, so I don't think you have to keep it on.)

Here's the blog post from Microsoft themselves regarding the promotion.

Note: For us BB10 users, there is a free Connect to Microsoft OneDrive app built by BlackBerry that's integrated into the File Manager but I'm not sure if the system recognizes sign-ups through that app as it was not explicitly mentioned in the blog post. Edit: This promo also works via the native BlackBerry-built app as well, thanks Dusdal! Edit #2: Never mind, it's a no-go from the native app. I personally used the Android app, which is in the Google Play Store as well as the Amazon App Store.

All credit for finding this promo goes to the original deals posting page and the folks that put the instructions together. Hope this benefits someone out there.

I just tried it with the Connect to OneDrive app on my Z30. Enabled auto upload, took a pic and saw it get uploaded,.. and so far I'm still not seeing the bonus. I checked using the url provided and it says 0GB for camera roll bonus.

Darn, looks like the native app doesn't work then. So you guys with 30 GB already, you should be able to get an additional 15 GB.

Hmm,.. guess it works for some, but not others. Either way it's easy enough to download the android version from the Amazon app store. I did notice that, unlike the native version, when you turn on camera backup on the android version, it automatically starts to upload all your previous images (but only the ones that are on device memory).

And you confirmed that it was giving you the promotional credit for enabling the camera backup using this site?

The only way I was able to get it was with the Android app. Native did not work for me. It doesn't give me an option for camera roll on the latest native app.

Installed Android version, turned on camera roll, deleted Android version.
    30GB.

    Thanks for the tip!

(difficult to use the Android app on Q10 though, doesn't scale properly.)

You mean impossible to use. I can't get past the first screen to be able to do anything.

    EDIT:
I just used my Windows 8 PC to get the bonus 15 GB.

Lol you can turn off the feature once you get the bonus storage. That's what I did. I don't take any "private" selfies or anything but I'd rather not have any of the pics I do take automatically sent up to the cloud without my discretion.

On Q10, spam the enter or spacebar key, it responds to some key presses.

That's how I got to the log in option eventually, lol.

Alternatively you might be able to use the desktop to activate the feature and get the storage credit that way. Haven't tested it myself but I suspect it should work.
