My 9900 broke the other week unfortunately, but luckily I was able to get a Q5 for a good price.
They are being discontinued in Canada and there is a bit of a scramble to get the remaining few at this price (-150 $) one of the sales guy was telling me.
Anyhow I really like it so far, especially Remote file access, miracast which works great with my old Playbook Bluetooth keyboard and trackpad combo on the big screen and the camera and browser. Its a real leap from the 9900 to me anyway.

*Even though I was contemplating getting a passport I think I'm better off with the much more affrodable Q5.
I like to think of it as a "smaller' passport and it is a much nicer looking phone in the hand as opposed to pictures

One question I do have is if I can turn images off in the browser as I could with my 9900. I know there is reader mode but the images still show and my data plan is very limited.

    Thanks

btw: Anyone still on the older BB7 Blackberries I highly recommend moving up, even the Q5 seems far more advanced let alone the other BB 10 models.

    Just to add:

Nice to see you chose a Q5. I feel like it needs more love. These are all the options in the browser and it seems that there are no option to disable or enable images.

Yes, looks like its not an option any more, oh well. Its still a really impressive phone though, thanks for your help.

Mate download UCbrowser mini from onemobilemarket and that really works for me. It's faster than in built browser. You can set the images to not been shown or set the image quality to High, medium or low resolution. Downloading works faster too. I save around 75-95 percent data using UCbrowser mini compared to the BlackBerry browser on my q5 in India. And it has the options to have pages auto-loaded too.

I know I am one of the few to think that. But, price compared: Q5 > Z10 & Q10. Nice to hear you are loving it

Enjoy the Q5. I took the SIM out of my Z10 and spent the day with my Q5 cause it was looking lonely.

It's a nice little phone. I prefer typing on it over the Q10. My only gripe today was that I had to trim my thumbnails.

One thing that surprized me a little was BBM Channels. On my old Bold it had a lousy layout that made it pretty un appealing however with BB10 it looks so much better and actually worth looking through now. Before with BB 7 I didn't bother too much with it.

While I'm at it what's with all the complaints about Blackberry Link? It's worked flawlessly for me (knock on wood) at the first go, remote file access, media sync and everything else.

I think we have more elaborate setups that likely conflict. For example, I have several virtual nics, and I disable ipv6.

After one weeks use I'm finally getting the hang of it and am still very impressed.
The camera has really been standing out lately, takes great close up shops with great detail. Allows me to read fine print stamped on small objects, very handy. Print hand is an app I'm really liking, it allows for wireless printing to a wireless printer without the need for a pc intermediary.
With the built in keyboard, and a few extra apps I purchased, Blackberry have pretty much supplied me with a hand held mobile computer I've been craving!
