    Hei!

As I will receive a Bold 9790 soon, I have some questions regarding the functionalities and possibilities of the device.

    1) I've read that the 9790 has the same built-in camera than the 9900. Anyhow the 9900 is able to record videos in HD, while the 9790 just records in VGA. Is there a way to upgrade the resolution of the 9790 camera?

    2) BlackBerry OS 7 need a blackberry data plan for apps like BBM and push mail. However is the data plan also needed for every other app in order to function (talking about BlackBerry Appworld and downloading apps, WhatsApp, Weather App, etc.)? Will all downloaded apps from the AppWorld function with just WiFi?

    3) Is there a maps app using Google Maps services and that functions without BlackBerry data plan?

    4) Is there still software support for BlackBerry OS 7.1 and will there be future updates for this OS? Is it possible that OS 7.2 will be available for the 9790?

    5) Speaking of hybrid OS: Is it recommended to use those OS? What exact type of hybrid OS is recommended for the 9790 in order to reduce battery drain? Are there tutorials?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Nope, it's in the hardware

Yes, as long as the service books has been pushed, all will run on wifi

    3) Is there a maps app using Google Maps services and that functions without BlackBerry data plan?
I have read that waze some what works, but again, you'd better off getting on the lowest BIS plan there in your region.

    4) Is there still software support for BlackBerry OS 7.1 and will there be future updates for this OS? Is it possible that OS 7.2 will be available for the 9790?
    None in the immediate future.

    5) Speaking of hybrid OS: Is it recommended to use those OS? What exact type of hybrid OS is recommended for the 9790 in order to reduce battery drain? Are there tutorials?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

Though you're right saying video is 480p (VGA), 9790 and 9900 don't have the same camera (9790 has autofocus, 9900 does not).

The 9900 really has no autofocus?
Good to know. That's the reason I ditched the 9360.

    Hey!

So I just received a 9790 and it is working fine without sim card (Browser works, app world works).
If I now pull out the battery and insert my SIM card (no BIS plan), will the service books be deleted or will they remain saved so that browser, app world, etc still work?
