Have you seen the new 4500mAh battery for the Z10. Incredible! 18-20 hrs of heavy use, along with the carbon fibre back cover this will make your berry a new phone again! Go to the link below for more details.

It does look interesting but this caught my attention:

"I’m currently using this massive 4500mAh with my STL100 -3 running 10.3.0.1154. I average 14 hours with heavy use, 18-20 hours moderate and with lite use I was getting about a day and a half."

With what I consider light use, my Z30 lasts over 48 hours. I just threw it on the charger at 48 with it showing 26% left. Z30's battery is rated at 2880 mAh; this replacement for the Z10 is allegedly 4500 mAh - I think someone is fudging the numbers a bit in a marketing bid.

Regardless, any significant battery life improvement for a Z10 is worth a look! Check the last pic though; it does make it expectedly fat...

That integrated Z30 battery lasts longer even with the smaller battery. There is something about removable batteries that make them drain faster.

Looks good but I better be using my Z10 in it's original battery. And I also don't the bulge on the back. If I want a longer battery life I'd get a Z30.

Ordered one of these to try, at 18 GBP it can't hurt. Anything that lasts longer than the stock Z10 battery is worth it.

It's great that you are happy with that pack.

But I honestly have to say that my Z10 always lasts about 12-15 hours with one charge. (with the original battery)

The only power saving things I do is:

    -dimming my screen a bit.

    - Switching off LTE - I only turn it on, when I download bigger files or do a lot of internet things (like watching videos or browsing).
For the rest 3G is totally fine and LTE wastes lots if battery.

    - and improving my accounts bit, like: calender and contact synchronisation only every 24 hours.

I believe the antenna in the Z30 also helps with battery use efficiency.

Hi there I'm here in Hong Kong can you let us know where you ordered this from. Does the larger back come with it or is it a separate piece to order? Rocking 24-7 with my Z10 & 16GB PlayBook...

I have the battery, and I am on 24% with moderate use, and it's been 25 hours so far. I am seeing. how long it will go, yet, so far, it's been great.

That's the battery I have been using in my Z10 for the last 16 months. 36 to 48 hours on a single charge. I couldn't do without it, especially at the price I bought it for.

I would have thought in Kong Kong you could get this locally.

Amazon are selling this in the US and UK, not sure about HK. The larger back cover comes with it.

Man, it's so easy for me to forget this - and I should mention it, since I'm talking about my Z30 battery vs. Z10. I'm using an unlocked Z30 from Shop BlackBerry, on AT&T, and in my area (like most) AT&T doesn't support LTE on this phone - so I have no LTE activity running my battery down.

@Slash82 How did you turn off your 4G? I don't need it that often either. Anything to extend battery life helps.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought he said you could turn off the 4G and just operate in 3G. I know how to turn off my data totally, but not how to switch 4G to 3G.

@qapp: thanks! That's the way it works!

@dlowe23: Yeah you got me right.
As qapp described, go that way and you can choose between: 4G&3G&2G, 4G&3G, 3G&2G, 4G, 3G, 2G.

For energy saving and performance I'd recommend to set it to: 3G&2G - so you got 3G and your phone is able to switch to 2G if you get to an area with bad reception. This will provide mobile data at all places.

For maximum(!) energy saving (if you don't wanna surf the internet, but still receive all your e-mails & messages from bbm, whatsapp and and and...) set it to: 2G.

You should plan your next hours and set it for it. If you keep switching between those modes every 30min. or so it won't save much evergy.

I love staying in 2G only when I go out with friends at night and so I set it like that for the whole night. It get all my messages and make sure that my battery lasts the whole night and almost the next full day. So I don't have to carry a charger with me and don't have to worry when I get back home.
