Occurred after replacing faulty microphone on Z10. It goes away when I take the microphone out and don't have one in. I suspect it's a short circuit (i.e. The presence of a functioning microphone completes the circuit and the circuit stays on autonomously thereby draining the battery) but not sure how to correct it.

Anyone have any ideas. I'm stuck either with a phone that has a 2 hour battery life or a phone without a functioning microphone.

Would replacing the logic board/motherboard help at all?

does the microphone connect directly to the motherboard? if so then yeah it might help but at some point its cheap to replace the entire phone.

After you remove the motherboard, the microphone just peels off its contacts. It has a flexible cable to it. Not sure what to do but you're probably right that it might just be cheaper to replace the phone when motherboards cost probably $200?
