    Moto 360 compatible with BB10?-img_20140912_234935.png

According to this tweet I saw today, it may be true. He tweeted later:

    Moto 360 compatible with BB10?-img_20140912_235124.png

Anyone have any more information on this? Is the Moto 360 a realistic option for a BB10 compatible smartwatch?

I saw that tweet earlier too. It can connect to our bb10 phones but will be very limited.

Might tie in with what Beard was saying earlier about testing with smartwatches, making them bb10 compatible and whatnot?

We need a "talk2moto" app lol. Hopefully one of the awesome bb10 devs will get this up and running by the time I get the watch. The pebble steel is nice but the Moto 360 is something else, and will be a perfect addition to my watch collection

The watch will never fully function. Android Wear is a extension of Google Now. Which needs Google Play services, other features need Motorolas contextual services and Motorola Connect to work.

All this guy did was establish a BlueTooth connection - none of the functionality actually works, and isn't going to work, as it is heavily dependent and Google Services to work (intentionally so, so that only Google-Certified Android phones would be compatible).

You are talking about the guy that made us a functional Google Play store. He can probably get this to work too.

This is actually quite a bit harder than that was.

It depends on how you define success, of course. If partial functionality is the goal that may be possible. There are some features that have direct dependency on google services, though.

I know it's a long shot, but just wanted to keep an eye on it and have a place to gather some info. I'm interested to see how this plays out

An astute and savvy coder maybe able to re'route or create extensions that understand the commands routing them to WolframAlpha (like BB Assistant).

Tuned In as THIS is the SmartWatch I'd prefer over that fruit crap ... or Sony SmartWatch 2.
Need to find out if Moto 360 is IP58/68 water resistant.

My Pebble works perfectly fine with the Android version of Pebble App. The only thing I need Talk2Watch for is notifications, but all the apps work just fine. So it may be more than just a Blue tooth connection.

    A pebble is not a 360.
The 360 is Android wear which is heavily dependent on google services.
So yes you can connect the 360 to a blackberry but you will not have a smart watch

I'd suggest you go look at a Moto 360 before you buy one. I looked at one in best buy and was shocked at how cheap the quality of it is. I like my watches to have a little weight to them and the 360 feels like a plastic piece of junk on your wrist. Its also very thick but I was expecting something with a little more quality to the build.

OK, well I don't know cause I've never tried it. I imagine there is no support for notifications for it but not all android apps are dependent on Google Services, otherwise we wouldn't be able to use any android apps on BB10. Am I wrong?

No but you're assuming Android and Android wear is the same os which it isn't. The moto 360 doesn't run Android. It runs Android wear.
At a push maybe Android apps that support Android wear may work but the core functions of the watch will not be usable

I love my Moto 360. I didnt even wear watches on the regular and only gave this one a chance because I am tech freak. But mileage may vary. I have the complete opposite views of the watch that you stated. lol

All those apps need the Android Wear app for now. Android wear is closed source as of now.

You find the quality of the watch good? It's complete plastic and felt really cheap to me. I'm sure it functions great and works as it should and I'm not trying to bad mouth the way it works, I just was expecting it to feel a little more premium by the pictures I had seen of it.

Yes. I like the watch being light, because it doesn't feel like its in my way. Especially if I workout.. I have never worn a watch this long before without wanting to take it off and throwing it in a drawer .lol I assume the bottom of the watch is plastic due to the wireless charging. But the screen and watch base doesnt creak or doing anything cheaply in my opinion.

Is it not possible for BB Passport with 10.3.1 above to work seamlessly with Moto 360? I have ordered one and I have BB Passport, not sure if this is possible to send and receive notifications between these two devices? Though I still do not have 10.3.1 for my provider. Big Question mark indeed!
