I couldn't resist. I suppose its a habit now.

As was the case with the BOLD, the OS for the Storm is far from perfect. The main culprit in my opinion being a slow UI. I think its in need of a Good OS Update.

Any newer OS's out there ?

.71 has been out to beta testers and I believe there is rumor that .75 will ship with the device. .71 has alot of improvements over .65 in terms of speed and lag issues.

I think you meant 4.7.0.65 which is the version that shipped with the retail Vodafone 9500 units.

This version has yet to be released on blackberry.com, no other versions have been released either

As I am a blackberry noob, how is RIM with releasing updates on the OS? Do they make public announcements about this, or do you have to rely on scavengers who search the web all day long for updates and such?

You can keep an eye on RIM;s website or the best thing to do is keep an eye on Crackberry forums !!!!
