So I went to use my Z30 with HDMI on two TVs at work. They both showed the image but the sound came from the phone. I made sure audio settings were appropriate on phone and TV, but no go. So I thought maybe it was the cable.

When I got home I tried it on my TV and computer monitor and it worked fine.

Thoughts?

My friend had that issue on his z10 then he used my hdmi cable and it worked fine. Just get a new cable.

Agreed! I've had so many issues with cheap HDMI cables from as far back as the PlayBook days. It really does make sense to get a good HDMI cable, even if you have to shell out a bit more for it.

Go to monoprice.com for cables, they are inexpensive but good quality (gold plated). Have never had issues with them, even ordered replacement printer toners and never had an issue with it leaking or streaks on the page..
