Was sort of hoping that this simple little feature would be back to us BB users by now. But even in the latest 10.3 leaks, still the birthdays we have entered in our Contacts do not show in Calendar. Come on BlackBerry.

I use outlook.com to sync my contacts and calendar and I can confirm I get the birthdays shown in my calendar.

You misunderstand.
Of course if your birthdays are in your Outlook Calendar, and you sync that calendar, the birthdays will show up. I'm talking about adding an entry in the Birthday field of a Contact on your BB 10 device, and it showing up in your BB Calendar app like it used to back on BB OS.

That would be nice to have.....as long as there is the option to not use the feature. I currently have outlook.com syncing my birthdays/aniversaries.

Of course - it was always optional even in BB OS. Just check the box for Show Birthdays in Calendar. Seems simple enough. I'm happy with BB10, just surprised this hasn't made it yet.

The birthdays showed up in my calender when I had them in my contacts. It got so annoying when it kept reminding me I deleted them.

They should only remind you once, and of course you can set them to not remind you at all, but okay.
