I keep getting the following error when I try to connect to my Yahoo! Email address.

I confirmed I have the right password as I can sign on via the browser.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Did you just upgrade with a leak? I have found occasionally I cannot log into one or both of my yahoo accounts after an upgrade with an autoloader. I find just waiting a while (12 - 24 hours) and trying again and it inevitably works OK. No rhyme or reason as to when it happens or to which account.

Delete the account information, then try again. That what worked for me when I was experiencing that problem.

Yahoo requires an application specific password that is 16 alpha characters as you need to go to yahoo.com and set a new one up for your device and use that.

Not true...just wait a few minutes and try again...Yahoo does not need 16 character passwords...

+1 you might need to select Advance (menu on the bottom center) when you were asked to fill in your password and select done from there.

As Gearheaddaddy said, Definitely not true, my two yahoo accounts have 8 and 7 character passwords, respectively, and work just fine on both my browser and my Z10.
As I mentioned before it seems to just be a random glitch. The last couple of upgrades both accounts were fine when I input the password. This time round one was fine, the other gave me a similar error message to the OP's. I waited about 12 hours, tried again and it accepted it, no problem.

Did you restore after loading leak? If so then wipe device and don't restore.

    Yes. Did do a restore.

I don't want to do a wipe quite yet. Everything else is working perfectly on the phone.

Perhaps as a last resort if I can't get it working in a few days.

I always restore (after doing a security wipe) and aside from the temporary problem, described above, it has not been a problem.

I'm having the same issue. I've been having problems with my yahoo email account for a while now. While on 10.2.1, I was prompted to re-enter my password about a month ago. I've never been able to to login since then. I've been on the newest leak since Saturday and I still can't login.

I have tried below and it works:

    1. Use Browser and log in your yahoo email. Read some emails.
    2. Then go to settings and add yahoo email account as usual.

    Good luck.

Have you tried manually inputting the server information? Check yahoo's page for that info

can u try this solution and see if it works, go into your accounts set up, go to add account, then advanced, u should see a list of all email providers,go into yahoo, fill out all the required fields, marked with an *, and under server address change imap.mail.yahoo.com to Rim.imap.mail.yahoo.com,this worked for me.

I had an issue where I couldn't add my Ymail acct after loading the autoloader (security wipe before and after and no restore). Couldn't add the account for a couple days, so I ended up making a homescreen shortcut to the Browser ymail session as a workaround. Just tried re-adding the Ymail account and it worked! So not sure what fixed it, just waiting, or going through the process of logging in via browser like thanhvx mentioned. Either way I'm good now, so I recommend trying these methods. (Note that I never got an error the first time I tried adding the Ymail account, the wizard finished but nothing showed up in the Hub)

The correct solution is to go into your Yahoo account settinga via your browser and setup an app password. Google it and see for yourself. Most email clients now use two step aka two factor authentication which is not compatible with smartphone and tablet email apps. Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo mail all have the ability to generate and use app passwords for mobile devices.

    That worked!

I got a text confirmation code that I had to enter on the browser. Read two emails on the browser. And then successfully added the account!

I love CrackBerry and all its great members!!!

Yes for some apps two-step verification is needed. I had it done for previous OS. But it still does not work on the latest leak. It looks like a different issue. It seems to be syncing with email, contacts, and calendar, and then the error pops up - takes about 3 minutes.

I've also tried all the other solutions with no luck.

I had the same problem after a wipe and reload. Try being on a wi-fi network, and also log into your account via a computer and turn of two step authentication. That is what worked for me.
