Hello, before every one floods in and tells me I'm stupid and you change your alarm tone by going into your alarm settings, yes, I know that, my question is regarding setting the default alarm tone.

Right now, it shows "Sunrise" as the default alarm tone. And that tone is so quiet, who are they waking up with that? Bacteria? There's no way I can hear that when I'm awake much less sleeping.

The reason why default matters is because if you set an alarm using voice control, it uses the default sound. I was just messing around with the voice control after reading posts about how the current one can do most of those functions and noticed that about the alarm that it set.

Is there a way to change the default? I've looked everywhere and can't find it. And if there isn't a way to set it, will 10.3 give that option??

I believe that since launch if you set in in bb10 as long as you toggle that alarm it will always be the default tone every time for that alarm and if you set another then yes you must select said tone or alternate tone again.

But you are not understanding. He says when using assistant to set alarm, it automatically sets it to sunrise. If we have to change it, then why use assistant in the first place

Yes, thanks, you got it. So far it seems you're the only one, lol. I hope they add this to 10.3. Maybe I'll bring it up in icanmakeitbetter.

    Work around found for you.

Try saying change my alarm and it gives a list of all current alarms then make a change to that one.

Yah, I know you can do that, but then it kind of negates the purpose of the voice command if it takes more steps and more time...

Yes, it's lazy to think that using a feature that advertises itself as a time saver will end up taking more steps and more time than doing it manually...

What if you bought a car that advertises itself as having an "Automatic" transmission, but then you find out that in order for it to shift gears, you have to hold two buttons, then twist a knob, before it'll shift. I suppose if you complain to the dealer that this defeats the purpose of it, you'd be considered lazy right?

    Good philosophy man...

And we wonder why products take so long to get improved... smh

Hi OP, I'm having the same issue, if I leave that default sunrise, I would wake up the next day.

    We need this option...

I just got an idea: Replace the file of Sunrise with the default alarm of choice. But I wonder if the folder that it resides in is read-only or not. I'll give it a shot.

I'm pretty sure all of the default tones are actually hidden and cannot be accessed normally...
