    Hi CrackBerry Nation,

if you are interested in some Passport-news, here are some photos of Passport next to the Q10, Z30 and Z3. You can compare how big it is. I've had short experience with Passport few days ago and I can say - WHAT THE F*CK! It's unbelievable and I'm rely looking forward! In Czech republic Passport is going to be available in October for about $800 (VAT included).

How different is it going from the Z30 screen size to the Passport, i don't mean pixels or clarity or anything, just the size itself. Just daily things, web browsing, texting, music, some netflix, skype... ect

Considering 16:9 5" and 1:1 4.5" are almost exactly equal in terms of sq in, I guess the Z30 wins Netflix while the Passport wins everything else.

I don't know, with that high resolution screen on the passport i think it could win Netflix too

I prefer a high res 15.4" laptop over a low res 17" laptop any day... i think this will be the same scenario with these two

Currently own both a Nexus 4 and lg g2, and since my G2 is shorter than the z30, i guess pocketability/holding shouldnt be a problem with the passport. Recently flipped a q10 for $250 and am interested in the passport more than the classic.

Any idea on pricing release for both?

Oh man, thanks for these! Now, I'm not complaining, but I wish you had a Z10 to compare it to! My Z's camera lens cracked last night and I need to decide whether to do the insurance claim or just wait for this sexy beast to come out! ;-)

See the screen? I like it to be OLED.. compare it to the Q10 and the Z30. The OLED looked better than the LCD counterpart (Passport and Z3 are using LCD).

You know that even letterboxed and at a slightly smaller screen size that the Passport will actually have BETTER resolution than the Z30 for 16:9 video, right?

I actually used to really like watching video on my 9900 when I had it; I didn't have to hold the device differently to do it, either.

I agree. I enjoy the small screen on my Q10 for video playback (for some reason). In fact, I usually watched videos on my iPhone 5 in portrait instead of landscape.

Because its using 10.3 instead of 10.2.1 you're on. With 10.3 the icon are smaller a bit without the gray box around it so more space for the icons

I agree with you...even though lcd in direct sunlight is better I really prefer the colors and contrast ratio with oled and it just looks better in my opinion

This must be a really early model I guess no silver line nor ring around the camera? Might it also have the mushy keys rather than the clicky ones?

Yes, but not sure my eyes will care as much about the awesome pixel density. But I am certainly looking forward to deciding which I like best. I figure either way I can't lose. High pixel density 1440x1440 LCD vs 1280x720 AMOLED. Hmm!

I like the Z30 for video so far. The bigger screen and video is quite sharp on it. Most video has compression that makes the 1440 less dramatic and maybe why a smaller screen is nicer in many cases. Video is pretty sharp and clear on my Z30. The size of the video on the Passport I suspect will be slightly smaller than on my Z10 (although much greater pixel density), as the screen is maybe half a centimeter or so less wide than my Z10 screen is long. And with 10.3 on my Z10 now, I have been using it again to watch Netflix. I won't put 10.3 on my Z30 until the official release so I will be using my new Passport to watch Netflix when I get it.

    Z30 Rocks!

OLED burns in. Simple issue. The Passport is made for BUSINESS users, users who will have screens on constantly. I can speak from experience, 6 months into owning a Q10, colors begin to degrade & burn in began in areas which displayed white constantly. This is not a major issue, now having the phone with the same screen for a year & 5 months, but it is a defect at the end of the day. IPS LCD does not have this issue. OLED drains more battery on WHITE screens than LCD does as well, making the power savings on black equal..

Damn. I also hate the burnt screen issue. I just have my Z30 for a month. So still no issue here. But I have a galaxy tab 7.7 which is using SAMOLED, and it suffers from the burn in. That is why black or dark background is needed in OLED screens!
