The processor is listed as the AA Version. Yet these come clocked at 2.3 ghz. But even more suspicious is the mention of LPDDR3 ram at 800mhz this was a new feature to the 801 so either the processor and clock speed is wrong. The processor is wrong and the speed under clocked for various reasons. Or the ram information is wrong.

That is a link for anyone to read in case I got it all wrong. Either way bloody awesome specs!

I taught somewhere it was mentioned the processor was under clocked, and this is a common BlackBerry design practice.

Not sure about the memory, but this isn't "official" info....

Interesting. Run at lower temp. Good practice.

Nice catch. I wonder what the source is on that spec sheet?

Pretty sure I remember seeing it on the qualcomm site as well tbh.

Regardless everything points to 801. There must be an error somewhere either way we have to wait for the official specs.

Hmm, I got device info from someone with a Passport and it says 8974AA...

I did notice 8974AB showing up in the OS, but I'm not sure it's for the Passport.

Still doesn't determine if it's 800 or 801. They both have an AA variant and an AB variant

LPDDR3 at 800MHz was introduced with the 2nd version of Snapdragon 800 (it's available on all Snapdragon 800 processors now, check the comparison table in the article you mentioned). The only thing that doesn't really make sense is the clock speed, but that can easily be because BlackBerry underclocked the SoC to increase battery life.

Nah it clearly states it's for version 3 and the 801. But if it was later revised to be supported on the 800 that's cool. Means there's not much of a difference at all between 801 and 800 as we seem to be getting all the benefits of 801 on an 800.
