I have a project where I'll be interviewing someone. I'd like to have my phone capture my voice and convert it to text as I speak.

    Any apps that do this?

You could try using Remember app or any other note app and use the voice capture option on the period symbol on the keyboard.

Yup, the built in voice to text should do the job.

You might want to do short sections at a time though, and fix typos as you go along.

The voice detection is good, but not perfect.

Can you list a step by step? The voice icon only records, it does not turn it to text.

Open Remember app, tap New Entry icon on bottom near right, type in a new title, put cursor in Additional notes field, hold down the period on your keyboard until the microphone appears, speak into the phone, and press done when you are done.

I don't know how much you can record, as it seems to process everything when you tap Done. It also seems to require a good data signal.

Wow! Thanks! I didn't know that you could do that. I just tried it and it works. I didn't try a long sentence, but what I said transposed perfectly.

Thanks except the microphone on the Q10 is on the ZERO BUTTON!!!!

Now I am using it to dictate this message to you. Thanks for your help anyway. Early in the morning and I couldn't see the microphone icon.

If you use the microphone icon you will only leave a voice note, not voice to text. The period microphone is for voice dictation. At least I think that's how it works.
