Based on a CrackBerrry post about apps on the Passport, I just installed Google translate from Snap onto my Z10 (STL100-3/10.2.1.3247 .). I tried to download (for off line use) the Spanish language data and the app crashed each time. I could not find the exact app in the Amazon app store to see if the same thing happened there. The third party app I tried in BlackBerry World does not have the download option. Have any of you succeeded at downloading language packs for offline use? Sounds like a good feature!

Google apps in general do not work well. However, Google Translate is the exception. I've been using it for months without an issue. I downloaded it and installed it to my Z10 using Snap without issue.

Edited to add: I tried downloading French as an offline language and couldn't even get past the download. You are right: it will not work with downloaded languages. I'm nowhere near being a tech expert, but my best guess would be that the database doesn't work well in a BB environment. But the app works brilliantly and quickly without the downloaded databases.

If you're looking for a translator to use offline, this one works pretty well: Translator - Express Suite.

I use the Google translate right off the mobile website. Works perfectly every time ....and you can save the url link so it can launch right off your home screen...

It seems the ability to download languages will only work on os10.3. I had it working with 10.3.0.700 but since I downgraded to 10.2.2 the app crashes wherever you try to download a language.
